One of the Stoneware classic glazes, which offer the depth, sophistication and reliability to artists working from mid-range to high-fire temperatures. Many glazes will break over textures, revealing secondary colors and shades.

Used alone, these glazes produce beautiful color variations. One coat will allow the clay body to show through the glaze. Two to three coats will deepen the color.  The choice of clay body, thickness of glaze application, firing process and temperature will affect the fired finish.

Cone 5/6 to 10.

General Appearance of Northern Woods

Cone 6:  A semi-transparent blue-ish green glaze. Lighter applications will produce a light translucent green with brown hues.  As additional coats are applied, the green hues will deepen and develop a blue-ish tint.

Cone 10:  No Change

Tips:

  • This glaze breaks brown.  When applied thin, the color will be brown.
  • To get the deep green color, apply three heavy coats.
  • This glaze looks great on white stoneware and porcelain.
  • Always test prior to use.
