This is one of Spectrum's 850 Raku glazes, which require a raku firing process to achieve the results shown. Here's the recommended procedure:
- Fire to 1750°F (950°C) in an electric or gas kiln.
- While still red hot, the glazed piece should be transferred into a reduction bin - usually a small sealable metal container containing organic material.
- The reduction bin should then be closed and the piece allowed to cool for at least twenty minutes before removing and cleaning it.
Spectrum Raku glazes are all lead-free.
Price is per 4-ounce bottle.
